About AZTI

The Arizona Transportation Institute (AZTI) was established in 2024 through a collaborative partnership among Arizona’s three public universities, The University of Arizona (UA), Arizona State University (ASU), and Northern Arizona University (NAU), along with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). As AZTI's primary funding partner, ADOT provides the critical support that enables the institute to advance transportation research, innovation, and workforce development across Arizona.

By combining the expertise and resources of its partners with ADOT's investment and leadership, AZTI serves as a statewide hub for collaboration, supporting research and development efforts that address both state and national transportation challenges. Through this partnership, AZTI leverages world-class research capabilities to drive innovation, improve transportation systems, and enhance quality of life for communities throughout Arizona.

While ADOT remains the cornerstone of AZTI's funding and success, the institute is also seeking opportunities to collaborate with additional funding partners who share a commitment to advancing innovative transportation solutions and addressing emerging mobility challenges.
