Heejin Jeong

Dr. Heejin Jeong is an Assistant Professor of Human Systems Engineering at The Polytechnic School, Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU). He is also a Biomedical Engineering Graduate Faculty member in the School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering. Dr. Jeong’s research supports human decision-making in interactions with autonomous and intelligent systems. He applies engineering methodologies such as experimental studies, human performance modeling, and data analytics to address societal challenges in human-system engineering domains, including robotics, healthcare, and emerging technologies like extended reality and artificial intelligence. His work focuses on extended reality systems for enhancing occupational safety and healthcare rehabilitation training, as well as human-robot collaboration in Industry 5.0 manufacturing systems. Dr. Jeong leads the Human-in-Mind Engineering Research Lab (HiMER Lab) at ASU, which designs, implements, and evaluates emerging interactive systems from a human factors perspective to advance well-being and quality of life.
