Robin Tuchscherer
Dr. Robin Tuchscherer is a Professor at Northern Arizona University (NAU) with a background in structural engineering. Before entering academia, he gained over eight years of experience as a structural engineer and consultant, working on a diverse range of projects, including bridges, schools, hospitals, water and wastewater facilities, and industrial structures. His research interests in structural engineering focus on the experimental testing, design, behavior, and performance of structural concrete and masonry, with particular emphasis on large-scale assemblies, discontinuity regions, service limit states, condition assessments, and repairs. Additionally, Dr. Tuchscherer is dedicated to engineering education, specifically exploring students' sense of belonging and community in the classroom, as well as improving knowledge transfer through relevance and situated cognition. His work bridges both technical engineering challenges and pedagogical improvements in the field.
